Faculty Positions for the
Texas
A&M Health Science Center (HSC)
The Texas A&M HSC Irma Lerma Rangel College of
Pharmacy in association with the Center for Microencapsulation and Drug
Delivery of the Texas A&M HSC College of Medicine is seeking dynamic
individuals for two tenure-track senior research faculty positions in
Bryan/College Station, Texas.
Applications are invited from individuals with
experience, demonstrated leadership, and vision to develop research in the
areas of pharmaceutics, drug formulations, industrial pharmacy, drug delivery,
biopharmaceutics or related areas of product development. The Center for Microencapsulation and Drug
Delivery is focused on integrating the discoveries, translational research, and
pharmaceutical development of basic scientists, pharmaceutical scientists, and
clinicians within the Health Science Center and other components of the Texas
A&M System. Therefore, it is
essential that the candidates have a broad understanding of drug and vaccine
product development and an ability to steer the A&M discoveries into
product development with collaborative research and scientific leadership. Candidates selected will have ample
opportunities to develop and strengthen a world-class Center for
Microencapsulation and Drug Delivery and Pharmaceutical Product Development
with additional faculty and research resources/partnerships.
The successful candidates are expected to be well-known
leaders with national and international recognition within the general areas of
pharmaceutics and product development; have an earned doctorate degree in the
related disciplines of pharmaceutics, industrial pharmacy, physical pharmacy,
or biopharmaceutics; have a record of very successful grant activities from
federal, state, and industrial sources; have an extensive publications record;
show evidence of successful mentoring of junior faculty, post docs, and
graduate students; and display a demonstrated ability to work with other
disciplines, pharmacy industry, and drug regulating agencies.
Besides teaching and mentoring responsibilities for
Pharm.D. and graduate students, key deliverables of this position include an
ability to develop a strong, well-funded independent research program; develop
a new product development center with federal, state, industrial, and
institutional grants; recruit and train junior faculty and graduate students;
facilitate the discovery and development of therapeutic drugs by faculty within
the Texas A&M System; serve as a national and international leader to promote
the education and research interests of the College of Pharmacy and College of
Medicine within the Texas A&M Health Science Center; and be a champion for
pharmaceutical product development in the 21st century.
